Why UX Matters?

When it comes to thinking about why UX matters, we tend to think that one of the reasons it’s important is because it defines how an app looks and how it flows from one page to another. But in reality, there are more reasons than just focusing on the aesthetics of an app or website. It also focuses on how accessible things are for users and what their experience is like using that product.

Here are three examples of why UX is really important when developing a digital product for users:

1. User Satisfaction

When developing a digital product that is going to be used on a mobile phone, UX designers must understand that many people who are going to be using their product may not know how to use their phones proficiently. Some people have certain disabilities that prevent them from seeing certain colors, while others have physical disabilities that prevent them from using their mobile devices properly. For example, some users might be blind while others might not be able to use their hands like you and I normally would.

Thus, we have the mission to create a product that is accessible not only for typical users like you and me but also for people who have some sort of physical constraint that might prevent them from using our product as it was originally intended.

2. Cost Reduction

When it comes to the development of a digital product, we as UX designers must understand that our design should not only be easy to develop, but our design should also meet the expectations of the people who will be investing their own money into the product we are working on.

Another thing that good UX design will help with is the identification of problems early in the development cycle when we are doing quantitative and qualitative research with volunteers in the field. This will help us ultimately reduce the overall development cost of the digital product we designed.

Ultimately, this leads to making investors happy with you and the development team that is working on the product they have invested money in.

3. Accessibility

The most important reason why UX design matters in the tech world as a whole is because everybody that lives in this beautiful and complex world we all call home is different. Some people have certain disabilities that prevent them from doing things that most of us take for granted.

For example, some of those disabilities might include blindness, missing an arm or fingers, color blindness, muscular dystrophy, and epilepsy.

We, as UX Designers, should focus on these aspects of life that affect many people in the world. Not only will it help our product be accessible to people with disabilities, but it will also help us comply with many of the government regulations that deal with technology and the disability acts that are in the markets we are trying to reach with our product.

This will ultimately help our product succeed in the long term.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we as UX Designers should create our designs in a way that will help the development team identify user problems quickly and efficiently. Our products should also be able to be developed at a cost that won’t hurt the business we are working with. And we should make our product as accessible as we can so that we can reach as many people in as many markets across the world as possible without breaking any laws that may be in place in certain parts of the world.
